Buchholz Raley
Buchholz relay positioned between conservator tank and tank cover. If some fault occur in transformer (short circuit between winding layers or turns, deformation on insulation materials etc.), various gases are released. These gases rise up due to their density and accumulate in the buchholz relay. And switches in the buchholz relay is actived due to this accumulation.
There are two 5 Amps electrical contacts into the relay. Any signalization and monitoring system can be controlled by electrical contacts in buchholz relay.
Pressure Relief Device
It generally used for hermetically sealed oil immersed transformers and can be used for transformer with conservator tank in case of customer request. PRD (Pressure Relief Device) protects transformers tank against the high pressure. In case of over pressure situation, the valve opened and oil discharged to out of tank.
If this device is not used or if its defective:
Tank pressure may increase,
The over pressure situation causes an increase in temperature,
The over temperature situation causes an increase in load losses/copper losses,
The temperature increase, shortens life of oil and other insulation materials,
In Datsan, We use pressure relief device as a standard protection device on all hermetically sealed transformers and as an optional on our transformers with conservator tank.
DMCR/RIS Transformer compact protection device
DMCR by another name its called RIS is used with hermetically type transformers as a protection and monitoring device. It used to monitoring or measuring parameters below:
Oil level,
Gas content,
Tank pressure,
Oil temperature.
DMCR/RIS equipped with electrical contacts below:
Tank pressure,
Oil temperature,
Oil level.
Oil Level Indicator
Oil level indicators are used to see and/or inspect the oil level in transformer tank (hermetically sealed) or in conservator tank. In many cases we used contact type oil level indicator as an option which equipped with electrical contacts.
Isolation Transformers
General Specifications:
Transformers are electromagnetic devices which transform alternating current electrical energy from primary to secondary side. The energy from primary side is transformed with equal frequency and approximately (because of transformer losses) equal power by means of the transformer core magnetic field. There is no contact or wiring between primary and secondary side. Therefore they provide galvanic isolation between primary and secondary side. The harmonics and circulation currents (in general) which may occur at secondary side can not pass the primary side.
Advantages of Isolation Transformers:
- Protection of electronic devices against the electrical shock,
- Protection of the persons against the electrical shock,
- Protection the network (primary side) against the harmonics (in general)
Additional Technical Informations :
- Rated Power : From 25 kVA upto 1000 kVA,
- Rated Voltage : from 24 V upto 36.000 V,
- Turn Ratio : Generally 1. Can be manufactured as per customer requests.
CSP (Completely Self Protected) Transformers
General Specifications:
CSP (Completely Self Protected) transformers manufacturing single phase as generally. We provide Datsan CSP transformers suitable for pad and/or pole mounted. Designs can be either hermetically or with conservator tank. CSP transformers are suitable to use for rural area, railway systems etc.
Advantages of CSP (Completely Self Protected) Transformers:
- Internal overload protection,
- Internal high voltage/flash protection,
- Internal over load and over heat protection and signalization,
- Internal short-circuit protection,
- Economical transmission line requirement (1 phase instead of 3 phase line)
Datsan CSP Transformers :
- Suitable as pad either pole mounted,
- Can be designed as core or shell type,
- Windings are copper or aluminum,
- Tank can be manufactured as circular or rectangular,
- Can be manufactured dry type or oil immersed type.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
25 kVA Oil Type Transformer (Um 1.1 kV)
Datsan 25 kVA transformers can be manufactured by copper or aluminium wires as per customer requirement. We generally use enameled copper wire for HV winding and copper strip wire for LV winding. Primary voltage can be any voltage from 400 Volt till 36 kV.
We generally manufacture distribution transformers in this power range, mainly in two different types:
- Transformer with conservator tank (WCT),
- Hermetically sealed type (HST),
Below table will help to engineers to select the best option according to environmental conditions which transformer works in:
High Environmental Temperature | High Altitude | Rural Network | High Humidity | Over Load Conditions | Unstable Loading | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
WCT | ⇑ | ⇑ | ⇓ | ⇓ | ⇑ | ⇑ |
HST | ⇓ | ⇓ | ⇑ | ⇑ | ⇓ | ⇓ |
Meanwhile here is the advantage-disadvantage of the WCT-HST types:
- In HST type, tank pressure is more than WCT type. WCT type generally works under low pressure due to its open to atmosphere,
- In HST type, cooling/insulation oil does not contact to the air (theoretically). Therefore oil maintenance period is longer than WCT type,
- HST type transformers and their related parts generally work under higher temperature (If we evaluate WCT-HST work under same conditions).
